Signal Words

The following are definitions of the signal words required by the EPA on any product containing known toxins; that, in small amounts, may be FATAL to an average size adult (180 lb. man). What about a child? These words and their meanings should be memorized by all family members.

POISON or DANGER: A taste to a teaspoon is FATAL if swallowed (inhaled or absorbed through the skin).
WARNING: A teaspoon to an ounce may be FATAL if swallowed (inhaled or absorbed through the skin).
CAUTION: An ounce to a pint may be FATAL if swallowed (inhaled or absorbed through the skin).
